OUber: A Web-Based Vehicle Ride-Hailing and Management System for UPOU
Developed a full-stack ride-hailing module integrated into UPOU's existing PIVOT platform, enabling employees to request and join official trips while allowing administrative officers to manage approvals, assign drivers/vehicles, and generate automated trip tickets.
Project Overview
OUber was designed and developed to digitize and streamline the vehicle reservation and trip ticketing process at the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU). Before this, booking official trips required extensive physical paperwork, manual approvals, and complex scheduling back-and-forth among drivers, administrators, and staff.
The system introduces a unified dashboard where university staff can create trip requests, specify destinations, schedule departures, and opt to share rides with other employees heading in the same direction. Administrators are empowered with an automation dashboard to assign available drivers and vehicles and generate digitized trip tickets instantly.
During user evaluation, OUber achieved an overall System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 87.10 (indicating an Excellent rating), far exceeding the industry average benchmark of 68. Over 84% of users strongly agreed that the platform significantly simplified the booking process and was highly intuitive to navigate.
