FoodUP: Food and Restaurant Review Application
A desktop information system designed to help users record reviews, rate establishments, and search for menu items, built with a custom TKinter graphical user interface.
Project Overview
FoodUP is a desktop application developed to serve as a local restaurant catalog and review system. It helps food enthusiasts keep track of dining experiences, log ratings, and search for specific menu items across multiple establishments.
The project involved converting Figma designs into functional Python Tkinter windows, requiring custom canvas drawings, grid alignments, and styling adjustments. I was able to resolve edge cases and backend-to-frontend synchronization challenges.
All backend operations are powered by a relational MariaDB database using SQL procedures, ensuring fast query lookups, robust constraints, and accurate indexing of reviews.
